Get High and Listen to These 5 Fun Audiobook Classics

Reading books is a great activity that all ages can enjoy, but audiobooks offer several advantages over your old paperbacks. We don’t blame you at all for loving traditional books but consider these points when choosing your summer reading list.

The Benefits of Audiobooks

1. Audiobooks are more portable. You don’t need a big purse or backpack to tote around an entire library of your favorite books. Just use an app on your phone to have access to all your books in the blink of an eye.

2. You can’t shouldn’t read a book and drive. Audiobooks are great for commuting and road trips. Enjoy a new fiction release or work on self-improvement with a variety of non-fiction reads.

3. Audiobooks are better for the beach, pool and bath. Forget about the beach breeze whipping your pages around or your pages getting splashed by the pool. Treat yourself to wireless earbuds or use a Bluetooth speaker and keep your phone or tablet shaded, safe, and dry.

4. Voice actors and professional narrators bring the story to life. Did you know narrators have fan clubs? They sure do. These talents create an experience like no other, breathing life into your favorite characters. Some of the most fun audiobooks are those with full cast dramatizations. Think of them as audio plays!

Audiobooks and weed were made for each other

An awesome way to get more out of your audiobooks is to enjoy some cannabis before listening. Let the inspiring nature of the plant open your mind to the story as it creates it own images to accompany the narrative. If you’re one of the millions of Americans who has trouble sleeping, a few puffs of a cannabis indica strain and a chapter of a good audiobook before bed might be the answer you’re looking for!

5 Audiobooks to Listen to When High

Here are some of our favorite audiobooks to listen to high:

Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton, narrated by Scott Brick

If you’ve only seen the movie, you’re in for a treat. The book is about much more than murderous dinos. It offers a stark look at ethical questions posed by biomedical research. The topic is still current and thought-provoking and there’s plenty of action to keep you engaged.

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, narrated by Rob Inglis

The Lord of the Rings has gotten all the glory in recent years but the unabridged version of the classic The Hobbit is a delight for fantasy fans of all ages. Much of the original story was removed for the movies, so enjoy the whole journey of Bilbo and his friends from The Shire and back again.

Poirot’s Finest Cases by Agatha Christie, full cast dramatization

Enjoy classic mysteries poolside with eight full cast, BCC dramatizations of Agatha Christie’s best loved Poirot cases. Enjoy these audio plays through a range of talented actors.

The Enchanted and Adventure Collections – various authors, Audible

These two collections are fantastic values with more than 80 combined hours of your favorite children’s classics. The Enchanted Collection features unabridged versions of The Secret Garden, The Wind in the Willows, Black Beauty, Little Women and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
